Metal polishing for smooth, premium surfaces

Polishing is the final step in surface finishing at WF Mechanik. It removes fine grinding marks, smooths edges and transitions, and gives stainless steel, aluminum, and other metals a flawless finish—ranging from satin sheen to high gloss, consistently across the entire part.

Polishing stainless steel – technical performance with shine

In machinery and plant engineering, polishing is more than aesthetic: polished metal surfaces are easier to clean, more hygienic, and more resistant to corrosion. For visible areas or strict design specs, our team delivers uniform surface patterns—technical or decorative as required.

Systematic refinement: grind, smooth, shine

On request, we combine polishing with prior grinding, satin finishing, or blasting to optimally prepare the surface. Depending on the target finish, we use K240/K320 abrasives to level fine irregularities in multiple steps.

Polishing then follows with felt, cotton, or sisal wheels and matched compounds: iron-oxide-free for stainless, dedicated wax/paste for aluminum. This produces mirror finishes and prevents tarnishing. For copper and brass, a clear coat protects against oxidation.
